Portraits
Where do we shoot? At homeSessions at home tend to be more relaxed, and personal. Theyre the perfect setting for all kinds of sessions, but especially for families with babies or toddlers (this is the only location option for newborns). Your home doesnt have to look like a Crate and Barrell catalogit reflects you, perfect imperfections and all. You will be surprised with what we can do at home!Urban or downtown city of your choiceI love weaving the vibe of your city into family photo sessions and urban locations work great for families with older children, seniors, couples and engagements, or anyone whose style is hip and casual. Think beautiful textures, lots of color choices, and architectural elements.NaturalGroomed parks, grassy areas with a brilliant blue sky, a field of mustard and sweet peas in the spring, and of course a variety of beaches. Any of these locations make a great spot for a photo session and I have several go-to spots that have fantastic light and fun places to explore.

Babies
Babies
Custom photography is about the opportunity to really truly capture life and memories and emotion and love. You can commemorate your babys growth throughout the first year with portraits taken at a big-box but it is a rare run-of-the-mill studio photograph that will be able to be viewed years from now with a sense that that is the baby/kiddo/moment I remember. Birth photography can be some of the most emotionally wrenching photography out there but it does take a special eye, and a gentle knowing to be able to capture those moments with grace and without taking away from the experience itself. And family photography well, how many of us have photographs of everyone in one place at one time? nuff said on that one. These moments of your life are fleeting. Capturing your children and your family as they are is truly priceless. The works of art that I encourage all families to invest in will be heirloom pieces for generations. When your great-grandchildren are able to look at wall art featuring their grandparents as fresh-skinned newborns and giggling toddlers, the investment will have already made itself over a hundred-fold.Anyone can pick up a camera and take a snapshot and perhaps they will capture the spirit of the moment. But to be able to have not only the moment captured but to have it done so beautifully it can be blown up and hung on a wall to be appreciated for decades well, that does take some talent. And time. And investment. As with so many other experiences in the art-world, a part of the beauty of the finished product lies in the appearance of ease. But the finished gallery that you view, along with the ordering of your prints and wall art is a time investment on my end a dozen hours or more and an investment of thousands of dollars in equipment. We spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on the mundane stuff of life but the investment of custom photography is an investment in memory; it is the capture of a moment in time that will never come again. Your life is precious. Your love is wondrous. And this time is fleeting.Custom photography is worth it for the experience, for the memories captured, for the lovely art that graces your walls and will grace them for decades to come.
